Hi. My name is Courtney and I'm an addict - there are so many pretty, shiny things for my sims that I just can't stop DLing! It's like back in the pre-University days, before the downloads broke my game and I stopped using them for a very, very long time. I'm not alone in this; I have an enabler in the form of
thessalian, and she is at least as bad as I (only she's been doing it for a lot longer, so she's better at hiding it). Now that I have all these shiny new downloads, I have shiny new neighborhoods - I have the Godric's Hollow one, of course, in which I use all the Harry Potter stuff I've downloaded (thank you so much to
cloudlessnights and so many other talented creators!). I have the one in which I have the elaborate history of a Changeling character I play on
JusNoctis or rather, where I will have that. I'm still working on all the families necessary for such a thing, as Gregory has had a very long, very complex (and, as I like to think, interesting) life. I have the one from when I first started experimenting with Free Time (Desiderata Valley, I think it's called?) and the same from Seasons. I have countless skin tones and eyes and accessories (though I still can't figure out how to get to the elf ears, dang it) and outfits and extra career paths and so forth. For a game that's basically watching how little fake people react (hey, not unlike RP!), it takes up a lot of space on my hard drive and a lot of my interest.
I went to the Post . . . no, wait, the East Bar . . . last night to see some old friends of mine play in commemoration of the second year of open mic nights there, and it was awesome. It was great to see Greg and hear
Bixy Lutz play again (even if I'm one of the original chicks and he's the only of the original boys left), and absolutely amazing to see
Maria and hear
Acoustic Stories (
hotaruramone and
jointhecraze, tell John-o about them!), too. Erich is adorable and the sweetest bass player ever, and Jake (Hot Paula's dad) is a close second. It was a great night, for sure, even despite some people that I'd rather not have seen and had to deal with. Even that was (relatively) painless and didn't interrupt the good times too badly, given that I was hanging out with Libby part of the night, Shawn part of it, and Maria the rest! It was nice, indeed, and not at all because of the look on the Sea Hag's (Shawn is awesomesauce - I love her! Also,
jointhecraze, you and Amanda totally know who I'm talking about) face when she was leaving and I was still hanging out with Maria. Who am I kidding; I am human, after all.
Man, I kinda wish spring break were over. Now I know how my parents felt this time of year, when my siblings and I were out of school more than we were in it. I almost forgot what it's like to have both kids home at the same time!
