Yay, I finished
Sheri's prayer shawl
last night. It looks so pretty. Now I just have to figure out how to get it to her. And write her a little note to go with it. Prolly let everyone at work in on it too. Cause it should be filled with everyone's warm thoughts, not just mine.
Started a new project last night. Why? Well, I don't really have too many projects started right now. Coupla afghans. But nothing really smaller than that. Ripped a lot of projects out or have to rip them out. Besides, I figured since I was on a roll with the prayer shawl, I could start a new project as long as I make myself finish it before starting anything new. If I keep on like this, then yes, I may have some started projects that never get finished, but at least my stash should decrease some! :) I have a few knitting projects, the square rainbow baby blanket, and the double sided scarf going. Honestly, the scarf is a big pain and not very portable with its two attached skeins. And mostly I need projects that I can bring everywhere with me. That's how I get them accomplished. Like Sheri's shawl. I was able to work it so quickly because it was very portable until it got long. And even then, it wasn't too awful to bring with me.
So I started the shawl pattern that uses cupcake yarn. Thus far, I've completed 8 rows of I believe 44. So not too bad. It works up very quickly. I've only spent maybe an hour on it. Also, it's fantastic because unlike the homespun, the yarn doesn't require much watching. I really want to do a pair of wristers/fingerless gloves, but I don't have a yarn I think I'd want to do it with. Needs to be soft but kinda stretchy. No wool, naturally. Not even partially. Also, I did see a cute pattern for wristers in Red Heart Soft Yarn. I'd change a color or two, but they were rather pretty. Grey with colored stripes. Perfect for work in the winter when I need a little extra warmth.
I suppose that when I finish this shawl, I should get to work on projects I intend to sell. Lots of moonlight mohair. Coupla yarns I got just for scarves. Think I might like to knit some of them. Like I got pooch yarn, four skeins I think, which should be enough for two scarves. Since it's bumpy it might be fun to knit it with my big needles. And then I have enough to crochet a scarf too. That yarn I definitely got for me. But I bought some Dream and whatnot, which is so soft and pretty, it would be perfect to work up into a scarf and sell. So I have plenty of yarn and yarn ambition, but right now, it really is one project at a time-- whatever I start, I have to finish. And as long as I stick to that, the stash will decrease. I have baby yarns I should get going on too. Not until I finish this project though. : )
Okay, well I'm gonna hop in the shower and get pretty since Bryan's coming over later. And then it's crochet time. I could finish this project in a week. I wanna try. : )
