Back from my beloved California-haha. It was absolutely amazing though (sorry Car :)). Although it was a quick trip and even after a wonderful 16 hours of sleep from the exhaustion, I had a wondeful time and orientation helped SO MUCH. Not only that, but I am now registered, with a schedule and got to tour the enormous BEAUTIFUL campus. So Linda and I got there early Tuesday morning, went and picked up our sweet rental car and headed down the the beach! It was so pretty, and I could definitely see myself having a small problem going to class somedays-haha. We layed out and walked around a little bit, then went down to La Jolla, which is like the Beverly Hills of San Diego...talk about GORGEOUS...yes, my future home could very well be in those hills!haha. We drove around a lot trying to see a little bit of everything and get more of a feel for the city as a whole...got lost a few times, but it was nice not really having anywhere to be and just touring. After a while we decided to go check into our resort which was just divine! We went and swam in the pool for a little while and laid out, then walked around the resort to see the 5 pools, 5 restaurants, and spa...I WAS IN HEAVEN!haha We went up and got ready then went to one of the swanky restaurants for a fabulous dinner and just talked about the day ahead and what we thought orientation would be like and everything. Once we got back to the hotel room (that 3 hours REALLY started affecting us) it didn't take long at all before we were passed out...somewhere around 10pm there, which would be 1am here-CRAZY. It was good though, because we needed to be refreshed for the day ahead, because we had to be at the school at 8, which we were luckily 10 minutes from! We got up around 6 or so to take showers and get some breakfast, then headed down to the school! This is about the time I started getting butterflies when I saw ALL THE STUDENTS and their parents walking towards the "Aztec Center" where we were supposed to sign in. Sign in didn't take anywhere near as long as I expected, they were really on top of things, and the next thing I new they had us all divided up in majors in a large auditorium and we had a couple speakers.
It didn't last too long which was nice and we spent the rest of the day just with people in our major and got talked to/toured by our "Ambassadors" which are like the pep squad/welcoming committee version of Student Government. They were all really cool, and when none of the actual speakers were present we got to ask them whatever we wanted, and of course the first 5-10 questions had to do with "TJ" or...Tijuana haha...sounds like a pretty crazy time! Then we met back up with our parents for lunch who had been listening to all kind of speakers as well. Followed by getting my "SDSU CARD" and buying some of the SDSU school pride essentials...you know, Sweatshirt, t-shirt, planner...and whatever else we managed to pick up. Afterward we had a few more speakers and meetings, we learned how to make a "wish-list" for classes and how easy it would be to register the next day! We ended up leaving around 5, and headed to the "FASHION VALLEY MALL" soon to be my home away from home...ahh, it was like a dream mall...all outside and open on 2 floors and HUGE equipped with a Macy's, Saks, Arden B, Bebe, Jewel, Tiffany & Co, Nordstrom, MAC...ahh I LOVE IT. We got some dinner, then started considering our plane ride home...BLAH. So it was a surpassingly short trip, but we squeezed so much in that is was a blast! Now here I am...home and TIRED! Hope everyone else is just as excited as me about college now..I CAN'T WAIT!!!:)
PS- for those of you that asked, the cheapest gas we saw was REG: $2.71 haha...that sucks.
