Once everyone had woken up, and gone through the plan for the day one more time, Lau got ready to teleport them to Prague to see if they could track down Bob and Ted, or at least their contacts. He was still certain that he and Marishka could work much better on their own, without having to watch out for four high school students, of all things, ( Read more... )

Parker staggered a moment on re-entry, then looked around, checking to make sure her gun was still intact and her wallet still in her jacket. "Okay. Now what?"

Mac traced a finger across her laptop screen back in 235, making sure she was relaying the right information. "You're looking for Ernesto Karlovy, the owner of Lavka Bar and Club," she said.

After getting her bearing, Alanna glanced at the back door. "This the place?"

So, they actually got where they were going from what Parker could see, for the second time. Maybe Lau wasn't someone to be suspected, any more.

She scanned around quickly, and drew her gun.

Mutant powers were a step above magic in Krycek's estimation, but it was still unnerving. Drawing his gun as well, he set himself at Parker's back, only relaxing slightly when the alleyway didn't immediately produce a troop of goons to ambush them.

"Let's head out," he said shortly.

Parker checked the others, and said, "I'll take point," carefully picking her way down the alley.

The warehouse loomed in front of them, silent and still, with sodium lights punctuating the darkness every forty feet or so. A sign saying KEEP OUT in Russian and what Parker assumed was a few other local dialects was posted prominently on the first door.

It didn't appear to be guarded. Parker looked up and around, checking to see if any surveillance aeries or wandering guards were in the vicinity.

Krycek shook off the feel of the teleportation - he wasn't sure if it was just him, but it had felt less smooth that time, like turbulence on a flight.

Looking around, the night air was chilly and still, quiet. "Hope we haven't hit a dead end," he said under his breath as he scanned the trees.

Parker came in only centimeters from a tree. "Whoa!" she whispered harshly. "Nice job, Lau." She picked her way over to Krycek and the others, and looked around, cursing that she didn't bring night-vision goggles. "You and me both."

Lau scowled after Parker, then kicked at a fallen branch. Nature. Who needed it anyway? "Asphalt. Should cover it all in asphalt," he muttered.
