Jake was lying on his new bed, eating cheerleader cookies and trying to focus on his pulp novel. It wasn't going too well. He'd gone to pick up most of his stuff from 230, and Krycek hadn't been around. Jake still wasn't sure if that made it better or worse ( Read more... )

Evie came by, books in hand, to pick up the drawning Jake had left her a voice message about. She knocked on the open door, then peeked in. "Hello? I do have the right room, don't I?" She held out the loaned books as she came in. "When did you move?"

"Hi Evie." Jake sat up on the bed, giving her a little smile. He shrugged. "Earlier this week. Krycek and me kinda broke up, so... Yeah."

"Oh, I'm so sorry!" Evie said in dismay, putting the books down on the desk. "Can I ask about the circumstances, or do I just offer to get you cookies and more coffee? I've never known anyone whose had a break-up before."

Jake shrugged again. "I guess he just got tired of me. Or he wanted D more, I don't know." He shook his head. "Eh, never mind. Let's focus on the cookies instead. I have some chocolate chip left if you want some."

He got off the bed and walked up to her to put on the coffee machine again.
