"Useless!" said the Rani, throwing it to the floor and walking out.
Confused, her minion looked at the sonic screwdriver, now on the floor. The Rani had sent him to find the Doctor's secret weapon. He had followed the Doctor, spying on him, and determined that this was it. The sonic screwdriver really seemed to be the thing the Doctor used all the time, the thing that got him out of scrapes.
Then he heard her angry scream: "Minion, come HERE!"
The minion picked up the screwdriver, pocketed it, and reported to Lady Cranky, secret weapon hidden upon his person.
