I would not be hiding from him. It would be strategic avoidance.

Meanwhile, I would likely attempt to avoid everyone, and hope that I did not wreak any havoc until it passed.

Obscure? It would have to be someplace completely concealed-- as simple as under the floorboards would never pass their inspection.

Personal? I would not presume to suggest such a thing; that would be entirely your call.
