I've been thinking about something.

Animus: Spirit, mind, soul. They even use the present tense of we in Latin... And the name here, someone's said it's Latin, too. They're not the gods, they don't do with mortal affairs if they can help it. That's why demigods exist...

But I guess I'm wondering what are they? Does anyone have an idea? Animus is a

What are the Animus? Well, pieces of several things. Gods, spirits, essences, things that just are. Some have rather... large names, like Thalatte. It could be several that also hold different roles. I've brought up names of deities and spirits, and I've gotten some sort of response. Not as it actually being them, but knowing or having a relation to them.

How can they be gods, though? [She's not certain.] The Gods wouldn't interact in such ways with mortals. Maybe they're children of them? Anyone would know of gods, I guess, but it seems a little strange.

Not knowing of, but knowing. There are a lot of gods, from many different regions. How they are normally doesn't exactly apply here. They're physically and mentally fractured, and the parts of them that are functioning are sort of... Mushed together with everyone else that's there as well. A portion of them aren't gods, but more than that in a sense.

[--Wait.] Something beyond the gods, you mean? [She's not touching the idea that there might be other gods, since it seems strange with the Roman ones.] So they might not be gods exactly, ever. There's a chance they're something else altogether, right?

The gods show an influence over something, or several somethings in particular. They can be ageless, but death isn't actually beyond them. Some of the beings in the animus just... are. They're embodiments of things that just are, that simply exist. It's very possible that they were brought here so the most fundamental components of a habitable world, a world in general, can exist.
