I've heard that this... Christmas... is some sort of gift-giving holiday?

What sort of gifts should I be trying to give?

[...Talking mouse. That one takes a moment for him to wrap his head around - and maybe he doesn't fully understand how or why this mouse is capable of speaking but nevertheless, he is going to answer her question to the best of his ability.]

I must apologize... I do not know what this "Christmas" is... But when it comes to gifts, it is best to consider the person you are presenting it to and what use it may be to not only themselves but their people as well.

Well, I am familiar with gift giving normally. I do have children, after all.

Ah- yes. I should have expected so...

[talking. mouse. No, his head is still having great difficulty wrapping around this... But mice do multiply quickly, so surely this mouse must have quite a few children...]

Though I am not familiar with this festival, I would assume the rules of gift-giving would remain the same.

[Though what sort of gifts would a mouse give? Nuts? Berries? Bits of string?]

It shouldn't be too hard, then... I should start looking for more fabric and thread, I suppose.

[Aha, bits of string. That must be what mice give as gifts... it seems useful enough.]

Are you planning to make something?

I think so, yes. I can sew a few things.

You can? You must be quite talented then.

Oh, no, my husband was the talented one. He was the one who taught me in the first place.

[A husband now too? He's learning so much about the relationships of mice...]

It sounds as though you are very blessed to have such a clever husband.

I was, yes. Johnathan was a very clever mouse. He left me so many blessings...

Left-?

[Ah... He sees. He offers up a sympathetic look in apology.]

My condolences. I was not aware...

It's alright. I wouldn't bring it up if I hadn't been comfortable with it.

Even if he's gone, I still have such fond memories of him...

You must be a very strong woman- [er... Mouse.] - to raise a family on your own as you have. It sounds as though the bond between you and your husband was very powerful.
