[What did Mrs. Brisby do today, one may ask. Usually there is no answer, as she does perfectly fine keeping to herself.

Not today. She shifts a bit uncomfortably, fidgeting. It's clear enough, at least, that she is incredibly uncomfortable.]

Can... someone explain what a "pet store" is to me? Or... explain what a "pet" really is.

The animals in there... they're different.

[More than anything, that's completely shaken Mrs. Brisby to her core.]

For you? I haven't been in the pet store myself, but you seem to be a very special animal.

But that's... I really am not. Not at home, at least. The only thing special about me was my husband and my whole situation.

Maybe then it's just a quirk of Vatheon... I don't know. I don't know any of the animals that live in my world, just Pokemon.

It's very unsettling... I... I don't like that they're in cages, though. Cages are terrifying...

They... they hardly seemed aware of it.

But that's not right, I don't think. I've been put in a cage before... i-it's better than being eaten by a cat, but it's horrible.

I don't understand either. They aren't... like anyone I've ever known.

They way they move and think... it's more like a spider or a bug...

...do you think it could be a side-effect of being in the cages like that?

I don't think that's it, but I don't think those cages are good for them. There's no predators, and they're provided for, but... it's just...

[Not humane, is what she means, but it's not quite the right word.]

I wish Johnathan were here... he'd know what to do...

Where is the store? I want to go see these animals.
