Would be best to go to the hospital. Even if we can't ultimately help, can at least keep track of symptoms and work to help you the best we can.

Also, am a doctor. How can I help?

That would be better than nothing at all, I'm just not sure I can convince the patient to go. Plus.. I do wonder about what sort of people work there.

You said "we". Does that mean you work there?

Really!? You're a doctor? Well-- I'm not sure how you can help since it concerns a friend of mine. He has this illness that his doctors back home determined to be... terminal.

Ah, another person. A bit harder to convince.

Yes, I work there. Established my rights to practice there just recently.

Terminal? Hmm. Is still possible to handle. Some things that used to be considered "terminal" are now treatable. Or can be managed in ways that give the patient much more time than they expected. No clue on where this friend of yours comes from, but we'll do our best to find the problem and treat it to the best of our abilities. Is possible that their terminal disease or disorder is treatable by modern medicine.

Just need to get him to at least go the hospital. Or her. Him is the gender neutral as I'm told, but yes, your friend needs to at least try.

You said it! And this friend of mine can be a bit.. stubborn.

Really? Congratulations! I'm sure it's not easy to get accepted to something like that.

[Now this is what she wants to hear. Terminal doesn't have to mean that it will actually be terminal] I was hoping that since the City draws so many different people here from different times and worlds that someone might be able to help him. He comes from a place called Autozam, have you heard of it? It's actually a pretty advanced country. They can power large machines with only using their mental energy!

Gender neutral? [Blinks a few times at that one] I hope I can convince him to go.

Know many who are stubborn. Can find ways to deal with it.

Unsure. This place seems to be constantly moving doctors in and out of the City, so they're probably welcome to having me.

No. Never heard of Autozam as a country, government or planet. Interesting technology. Not sure what level of technology it is though. Will have to inquire into the technology. Sounds very interesting.

Some groups, species, political movements, etcetera are offended when you use the wrong gender pronoun. Can be problematic. As a doctor, need to be as accommodating as possible, until it starts preventing the job from being done.

If anything, just ask him to get some preliminary work done. Nothing too invasive, but enough to get a basic overview.

Deal with it? [That's an interesting choice of words, Mister]

Ah well, congratulations all the same. Whose to say what the City's objectives are.

It's alright, most people haven't.

Yeah, I guess you're right.

That's a start! [Makes a note of this] Maybe he would agree to something that's not so invasive. [It's not likely but..] Thank you!

[The way he's speaking, she wonders if English is his first language]

Say, I haven't had the chance to ask yet but where are you from?

Originally, the planet Sur'Kesh. Not sure where the Normandy was before I arrived here, but the year was 2185 CE Earth Standard.

[Now Hikaru will be sitting there trying to sound that planet's name out. Tilts her head to the side.] The Normandy? I'm not sure that I follow.

2185!? Then you are from the future! [Astounded Hikaru is astounded]

Normandy SR2. Is the ship I am serving on. Under the command of the Spectre, Commander Shepard.

Yes. Apparently. Compared to everyone else here. Except for Garrus. He also serves on the Normandy with me.
