[Presea has been wandering around, trying to figure out why the lights have all gone out (and having little luck). So she's a little surprised to see Hikaru emerge from the pantry, but she doesn't ask, because her attention is then preoccupied by the weird statue.]

Is that yours, Hikaru?

Oh, Hi Presea!

[Hikaru waves a hand sheepishly, also wondering why everything had grown so dark. If it hadn't been for her magic, she never would have been able to write such a lengthy entry]

No, he's not mine. He just kind of appeared.

What's with the lights? Did someone forget to pay the electric bill?

] She looked away from the gnome while she was speaking...]

[Presea jumps back in surprise.] They move?! [That she can see even in the dimness of the room.]

[She stares closer, not quite daring to touch it, but it doesn't seem to be moving now.]

What!? [Looks back at the garden gnome. Strangely, it isn't exactly where it used to be.]

That's impossible, isn't it?

[Kneels beside it, to get a closer look]

...Maybe it's not a statue at .. all?

But what else could it be? [She squats down too so she can see.]

People have these things in their yards sometimes here. I've seen them. But I've never seen one move.

Neither have I. [Hikaru nods.]

There are plenty of these little guys on Earth. Hmm, he doesn't seem to be moving now..

Maybe it was my imagination. Still, I wonder where it came from.

I thought it moved too... at least I think it was over there...

Maybe we should ask the others? It might belong to them.

That's a good idea. It really shouldn't be lying on the ground here. Someone might trip over it, especially in the dark.

[Hikaru nodded.]

I'll just sit it over on that table.

[She took a moment to point towards the table, taking her eyes off the gnome once more.]

[Of course, Presea follows her gesture, which means that no one is looking at the creature.

Which moves again.

This might get dangerous fast.]

Hikaru! [Um. You saw that, right?]

[This time she catches the motion from the corner of her eye. As a reflex she jumps backwards away from the harmless looking lawn gnome]

I certainly did!

[She stares intently at it, waiting for it to move again. Which of course, it doesn't]

Why do you think it covers its eyes?

[Presea hasn't seen any gnomes in that position before. She walks around it, staring.]

And only moves when we're not looking?

I'm not sure.. but sometimes figurines like this guy are released in threes representing "speak no evil", "Hear no evil", and "see no evil"...

Though I've never seen anyone with a lawn gnome variety.

Maybe it's... shy? [She has no idea]

[ Returns to the apartment, having left to see what the deal was with the power being out, and hears voices coming from the kitchen. Hey, people are awake now, so he should probably tell them about the--

Then, of course, he sees it. The gnome isn't familiar, but its pose is. He stops short. ]

Oh.

[ He was somewhat concerned about one of those showing up while he was gone, and it looks as though his worries have been realized. ]

[Turns around to greet the new person.]

Good morning, Clef.

[...Okay, that look on his face isn't reassuring.]

Or maybe not a good morning?
