She didn't love him.
Daniel was a wonderful guy. He made her laugh. He listened when she talked, made her feel good about herself, and the sex wasn't half bad. But she didn't love him and she knew that was a big deal. When he told her he was moving to LA and asked her to come with him she'd been noncommittal at first. He'd kept suggesting it, telling her all the great things about LA and about what he dreamed for them. How she could set up her own studio down there as well and she'd have even more clients, more celebrities, and...eventually she'd said yes.
She didn't love him but maybe she could grow to love him.
What did she know about love anyway? Where had it gotten her? Living next to a man she'd fallen hopelessly for four years ago. Every step forward with Julian Keller equaled about four steps back. It was a losing battle and she was so tired of fighting when there was Daniel who would give her everything she wanted.
If only she could love him.
And then Daniel had asked her to marry him.
