Word Count: 180
Prompt: 46.2 New

They're always new. That, in the end, is the long and the short of it. It is constantly changing, they're constantly changing. Love or just sex, romance or more, it always ends the same way. One of us moves on. Someone dies. Someone runs away. Someone turns to crime. Someone gives up crime. No matter how hard you try, it always ends in one way or another.

Except it doesn't end there. You keep trying and then it's someone new. And then it's new and it feels good and right and you start to think that this time it might work. You start to wonder if maybe this time new might finally have a chance to turn to something old and comfortable. You start to get that hope.

The problem is that the only thing that doesn't seem to fade is that hope that the next new thing might actually last.

[Locked to Pepper, Sean, Steve, Star and Tony]

Detox makes me so pathetically romantical. Could I sound anymore lame than waxing poetic about love fading until the next new thing?
