To most of the world, she is a terrorist.

Peter was reluctant to let her join them, but he can't deny that she knows how to take care of herself. Her broken bones are never permanent, gunshot wounds only last for a few seconds, and her blood is something good to have on hand. They carried around a vial before, it worked well enough as long as there weren't multiple injuries.

This is better for everyone. She's old enough to help protect people who are like her, and she thinks she owes them that much. Saving her didn't stop the explosion, it just saved her. Now that the government is imprisoning anyone with an ability, it's her job to use her life to help them.

Sam doesn't agree, but he doesn't fight her on it either. He's a demon hunter, which means he's not allowed to give her a hard time. She's spent more nights waiting up for him than he has for her. Claire knows that he worries; he's told her as much, and admitted it wouldn't be fair if he tried to stop her. He couldn't stop her anyway, not now that she knows Sylar is alive. There's too much at stake for her to get out of the fight.

Instead, she will step right into it. Her bags are packed, and she's leaving for New York in a few hours. Peter has rented an apartment in one of the new buildings for her under a new name, but the city is of special interest to "President Petrelli". Sylar. It won't be long until he sends someone after her. That's the point; she's bait. They won't let anything happen to her if they can help it, but even if she doesn't make it out of this alive, she'll be alright with it as long as Sylar doesn't either.

She doesn't plan to ask Sam to come with her. Not only is it dangerous, but it also has nothing to do with him. He's a demon hunter, not a terrorist. Fighting creatures and fighting people are two different things entirely. She thinks Sam would do it for her, and that's why she doesn't want him to.

They've been together for months and she's never told him that she loves him. Maybe he knows, she hopes she does. There's no reason for her to say it now, when she doesn't know if she'll have a chance to come back to Vegas. She never said it before because she was afraid he'd leave her. It's not fair that it has to be the other way around.

When he gets home, she's going to explain as much of it as best she possibly can. And then she's going to end it. He'll be better off without her, she always thought he deserved a nice, normal girl.

She's not one now, and she doesn't really think she ever was one to begin with. Terrorist, 'hero', freak...he made her want to accept the parts of herself that she was afraid of, just because he did first. He helped her to realize that she didn't have to be scared. In return, she's walking away before things get worse. Sam might not understand it, but it's the least she can do.

No matter what she is to anyone else, she'll always be a danger to him. That's one thing that she doesn't know how to accept for someone she loves.
