love actually scene.

Love, Actually is one of those movies that you can watch a thousand times and not get tired of--well, most of it. There's that one particular storyline that she's never been a fan of, as wonderful as the wedding scene was. She can never quite put her finger on why, but nothing's perfect. Those scenes are usually what she takes advantage of to dash to the bathroom or refill her teacup, sort out whatever the dog wants now and check that Jess is actually doing her homework.

It's a quiet night, though. Hamlet is sleeping, the girls are with friends, the wine bottle is in conveniently easy reach and Elizabeth finds herself sitting through that scene. To be honest, she's not really paying attention to it, white cards flashing in the corner of her eyes when she glances out the window.

TO ME YOU ARE

the natural enemy

Elizabeth blinks, looks back, and hits the pause button. It takes her a moment, but she snorts something like a laugh and pushes off the sofa, bare feet quiet on the carpet as she goes to unlock the door to Balthazar's smirking face. "Hello, Elizabeth."

"Some people knock."

Unsurprisingly, he looks less than penitent. She yanks him into the apartment by the tie she's only got designs on for the principle of the thing -- it really is godawful ugly.
