I think the trailer for the episode confused a lot of people, because it made it seem that Spring-heeled Jack was the creature inside John. I hadn't ever heard of SHJ before this episode, so I just did a quick google search after watching the episode. I don't know if they just threw him in there to clear up some things or if he will reappear. The murders that took place in Tempus were committed by SHJ, not John. That was why John was so crazy, because James and Helen thought that it was him (John). As far as if SHJ or John committed all of the murders in 1888, I don't know. But I am sure that John did commit the 5 JTR canon murders in 1888.
What you said about this seeming like a more real John . . . I agree. As much as we want him to be more normal, this is who he is. In seasons 1-3, after Nikola's experiments, we see a very different John, and I think we want to see him that way - but he is still Jack the Ripper - he is the BAD guy. So, I think this reminds us of that.
Ashley - I sure hope they bring that storyline up again - I want to see more of the history behind it. Even in the webisodes, John knew he had a daughter and was searching for her. But I haven't read a good explanation as to what was going on with Helen and her touching her stomach.
I'm glad you don't feel overwhelmed by it! I'm just in such a talking about Sanctuary mood right now!
I thought about Spring-heeled Jack maybe being the creature when I first saw that teaser without having the actual episode but when I finally watched the ep it really became clear to me that he wasn't (besides the creature inside John is an electric thing isn't it?). And thanks for claring things up for me! :D I heard of SHJ in a book series called Skulduggery Pleasant, there was something about him but only the name really got stuck in my head (I really need to reread those...^^)
I like bad John much better that the other to be honest. As much as I want him to work with Helen and the others and so on it's always a bit queer. It was really good to show this evil side of John again. I absolutely agree!
That would be really really wonderful if they did, because that would be where it gets interesting. There are still so many holes in our knowledge about the Five. I will need to rewatch that scene :) (but propably in a few days when I'm done rewatching the other three seasons xD) I hope we can get an explanation to that as well!
Did you see the Sneak Peak for the next episode already?
I think I have seen every sneak peak/spoiler out there except for the next episode. Though I wish I had stuck to my guns and stayed away from the spoilers . . .
XD I haven't read much about the upcoming season thanks god, but I always check out previews/teasers for the next episodes^^" I'm so looking forward to it! It will be exciting :)
