ENGLISH FINAL
oh man that was stupid and doesn't deserve to be put in a listy format basically we got back the only three writing assignments we ever did in this semester thats 3 papers in like over 20 weeks which is a really slow pace simply because mr aguirre is "slow" in many ways, so we basically wrote psuedo midget summaries for each of the 3 papers
-A Back to school story (fiction or non-fiction)(90/100)
-An Analytical Essay on "Finding Forrester"(86/100)
-An elaboration on a previously written SSW topic basically a freewrite essay (i chose swimming)(84/100)
each as an entry for a folder with our own name on it. not even a real final, methinks he didnt even plan a real final and this was a complete last minute shitty idea, not even worthy of being classwork in other classes much less a test or final. and at the end i confronted him about giving me a low "B" on one of my papers (freewrite essay: i chose to do an informative paper: and wrote about swimming) he tried to justify the "B" with some really crappy vague somewhat cliche responses that didnt even make sense like
"ya gotta take risks man",
"you dont want to develop",
"you need to try and make mistakes",
"maybe its your scientific backround that makes you unable to understand",
"you have to try to expand your writing styles",
and i utterly counterpointed his ass to death in a verbal debatesque arguement
"risks"? what are you talking about how do you take risks in an essay especially one thats just supposed to be informative?
"dont want to develop"? if i didnt want to develop (the essay) do you think i would have bothered with rough drafts, re-reading, proofreading, revisions much less a finalized draft?
"try and make mistakes"? isnt that what schools teaching you not to do cause mistakes usually lead to consequences or failure especially on tests
"because of your scientific backround"? wtf? what does that have to do with anything? so what if i explain things that i say in class with science thats been tested and proven thats not supposed to damage grades
"try to expand your writing styles"? my papers were all varied and had each type of writing stlyle he had on the board except poetry (he listed writing styles on the board: "Articles, Essays, Short stories, Poetry, and etc " he actually wrote "etc") lets see my Analytical essay obviously counts as a Essay, The back to school story counts a Short Story, and my informative paper can easily count as an Article on swimming. so that only left out poetry understamdably since we only had 3 writing assignments out of the 4 styles he specified.
mind you i spoke more eloquently when explaining this all back to him in the form of counterpoints with alot more smartass vocab(still reasonably comprehendable at the level i was keeping it at) but he just got flustered (lots of repetition and exageratted sighs and bumbling pauses where he tried to look like he was in deep thought)and came up with even more ridiculously needlessly wordy and inadequate reasons for the grade i got in the end he said he needed more time to figure out what he was trying to say to me and that we should dicuss it on another day most likely referring to tuesday
when you can out debate your teacher, especially in their own methods of grading, you just know something wasnt quite right with whoever gave him teaching credentials
french,
stupid people,
