[For Jenny]

Jan 28, 2009 20:34

For someone who had been living on a tropical island for the better part of three months -- did December actually count, she wondered -- Daphne hadn't spent a lot of time on the beach. Oh, she ran there, of course, but beaches were hardly there for running. No, beaches were there for lounging. Deciding she could afford an afternoon spent in the sun -- she did have an awful lot to think about, given the recent developments with Matt -- Daphne grabbed a large brimmed hat and a towel from the clothes box, picked up a dogeared copy of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland from the bookshelf, and set out for the beach.

Unfortunately, Daphne had long since lost her ability to sit still for any significant period of time. She had barely made it half-way through her book before she started to fidget. Maybe she'd go for a swim, instead. She was about to get up to do just that when she noticed Jenny nearby.

"Hey," she called out, waving slightly.
