(no subject)
So it's been a little while since I last updated. Not only have I been in and out of sickness (light-headed and nauseous one day, stuffy and achy the next), but I've been working like a dog. I haven't seen any of my friends since Christmas. I know I'm gonna get some good paychecks up until school starts again, but I miss just chilling with my friends and family.
But whatever. I have today off, I'm gonna hang out with Frances while Brother2 goes with his father tonight, Brother goes over his girlfriend's, Mother's leech friend goes upstate to work, and Mother just resting. She got into a car accident yesterday. Nothing major, but we have a blind stop sign on the end of our corner and some guy came speeding around it and hit our van. The front's all banged-up and my mother just has a little bit of whiplash. Thank God, because it could've been much worse.
I'm really not looking forward to starting school again. This winter recess always hits me really hard. It's just kind of ironic, I guess; I'm bookish, I'm smart, I love to learn new things. But I hate school. College is just not my cup of tea. And I'm kind of sad about that. I'm just going because I have to. I changed my major to history, but I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it. Maybe teach, maybe go into some sort of research field. *Sigh* I'm 19 yrs old, in my second year of college and I don't have a plan. Is that horrid?
I'm still waiting on my friend Adam's Christmas present. I got him two books on heavy metal history, which he loves. I have one of them and it's really good, so I picked another one in the same area, just focusing more on the heavy heavy metal, not just 70's and 80's metal. He got one book, and I'm no sure if he's received the second one yet. I ordered them off Amazon and had them shipped directly to him in England. And I had talked to him a few days after X-Mas and he told me he had missed the mail, and would be sending my present out the next day.
"Something you've been wanting for a long time, with a something shiny thrown in." I think the something shiny is a square of tinfoil, which is an old joke of ours. But I can't figure out what the main present is. He also said he made up for missing my birthday this year. It could either be something from an in joke of ours, or....I don't know! His sister worked for a guy who worked for Dolce&Gabbana; maybe it's clothes. Or a ring he said he wanted to get me. But something that I've been wanting for a long time? I have no idea. I haven't really been wanting anything from him. 'Cept a plane ticket, 'cause I can't afford one, but I don't think he'd splurge that much.
Guess I'm just going to have to wait and see. *Sigh* I could throttle him.
