I fucking love Little Dragon. They're a new(ish) band. They're GREAT. My coworker suggested them to me and then I lucked out it was kismet i say cos Starbucks had them for a free download the same week. I heard one song and bought the album. I do not regret the purchase, and it's rare that I buy music these days.
I'm finally truly a graphic artist at my job. I'm gonna have an ad that's going to run on the Metro! How cool! I can't wait to take pictures of it in stations and on trains. Since they moved me from mostly admin stuffs to communications things, my boss is like "take some communications and journalism minors so that you can extend your school stay and get automatic raises after a yearlong period". I'm taking her advice and will mostly likely do that. I'm glad that at least tuition assistance hasn't been cut.
I hate Congress, but I guess I share in feelings that most around the US have about Congress; working for the EPA tho (especially my organization in the EPA), we're under constant attack and criticism -- especially from the Republicans. It sucks sometimes not being able to air some grievances truly publicly at work -- tho we can conversationally.
Anywho, my duties have been expanded. I'm chief photographer and videographer (for our internal mostly communiques) when we have conferences and events in the area. And I'm also in charge of the tweets that we push out that go on our umbrella organization's twitter account. And now I've been charged with writing blogs. I wish I could get a pay raise. I'll keep my fingers crossed. I want a permanent position. I think I have a good chance at one, but if it was confirmed, I'd be a lot happier.
