Alrighty. I've been gone for awhile LJ. Where was I?
School:
Started my summer courses. Only doing 2: Art History 2 and a retake of Health. Health is an online class. I had it last semester but kinda forgot about it in the beginning and I failed. This summer, I'm taking it again, same prof -- it's crazy easy. I have a 94% grade as of now and we're at "midterm".
I dropped Art History 2 in the Spring. Along with that came craziness at the end of the semestre because the Registrar told me that I had never dropped the class. I went through too many changes, but finally my Dean, Jennie, resolved things, and the class was dropped. No failure grade there against me. My prof for that class was one of the School of Art and Design (a school which my school "absorbed"), and Claudia -- while she's a great character like any Art professor -- is a bitch. I knew it from the get-go. When I contacted her because the Registrar said they needed proof of the situation:
She was like, "There's nothing I can do."
I was like, "Show them your sign-in sheets. I haven't signed in since February" [It was May at the time of this conversation.]
Jennie handled it though. I was pleased.
I still owe Semester at Sea moneys cos HEFS which gives out grant money to DC residents was all "we can't cover shit your semestre cos it was a transfer and the transfer needed to be a whole year." and I was all "fuck you ya ugly muthafuckin dickling bitches!!!!!!! Why not? I know other people's who HEFS gave money to for SAS."
Mother's health:
My mother went on vacation to Alaska. She and her travelin' friend, Deborah, were gone for a little over 2 weeks. When she got back, she complained of an ear infection. She went to her doctor. They sent her to the hospital to get the antibiotics she needed; however the hospital gave her antibiotics containing penecillin (sic) which she's allergic to. Needless to say, it fucked her heart rate (sending it skyrocketing and the lowering and then skyrocketing again). She underwent heart surgery -- cardiac ablation. She then had to have 3 blood transfusions because the antibodies were attacking her own blood. She's getting better though. She's been moving around more, still has shortness of breath, and is on oxygen. She's ready to leave that hospital. And to sue.
There's my update.
