I was looking around for a DVD copy of ROTOR when I found this site that sells obscure, out-of-print B-movies, with a sizeable number of foreign movies. They have a deal going if you buy 5 movies, so in addition to ROTOR I picked out these other 4:
Boxer's Omen
As if Jodorowsky met Coffin Joe in Hong Kong and decided to collaborate on a supernatural martial-arts action film. Filled to the brim with visual overload, mystical drama, Buddhist symoblism and dark supernatural atmosphere, this film follows the life of a boxer embroiled in a vengeful feud sparked by the brutal, nearly fatal beating of his brother in a sparring match. He is overwhelmed one night by a vision, an omen as it were, which ultimately leads him towards the realization of his own destiny that takes him along a path of spirituality and a quest for the power and inner peace that may free his lineage from an ages old curse. This scenario is used as a launching point for what is surely one of the most bizarre, chaotic & excessive Hong Kong flicks ever made.
Ninja III: The Domination
The body of a sexy aerobics instructor is invaded by the evil spirit of a dying ninja. At first, changes in her behavior is limited to having strange interactions with an arcade game, doing sexy things with V8 juice, and being attracted to an unusually hairy police officer. But soon enough, she's systematically killing, ninja-style, the officers responsible for the ninja's death, and can only be stopped by another ninja!
Rapeman
Rapeman and his uncle run Rapeman Services, a company catering to wronged, vengeance-seeking spouses and spurned lovers. In this outing, Rapeman and Uncle become embroiled in a political party's attempt to disgrace an opponent. Rapeman, a school teacher by day, rapist by night, is also a detective and has a strong sense of justice. "Righting wrongs through penetration" is the company motto and many wrongs are righted here.
Turkish Star Wars AKA Dünyayi kurtaran adam
To say that "Dunyayi Kurtaran Adam" is the greatest movie of all time, is to imply that other movies can reach the sheer genius of this film. You probably understand all the surface quirks of the film. It is a Turkish film. It is a sci-fi movie that is filmed on a budget which is so low, that one may consider the term shoe-string budget an insult to the tangible value of shoe-strings. In order to duplicate the visual quality offered in American cinema, the director (Celtin Inanc) literally uses (read: steals) film footage from Star Wars and runs it during the film. Unfortunately, sometimes this effect is mildly confusing (the movie begins with the tie fighter sequence but you cannot really tell if the heroes are supposed to be piloting the X-wing fighters OR the tie fighters) to frighteningly moronic (during the final battle, the visuals of the tie fighter sequence flash, almost subliminally across the screen with no rational reason for its use) You should also keep an open ear of the great bootlegged music (only 17 years before the invention of the MP3) that makes up the films brilliant soundtrack. Music from Star Wars, Flash Gordon, and Indiana Jones are used in this film. The highlights of the movie include the final battle that looks like a "Power Rangers" outtakes reel and fantastic martial arts training sequences that make the lead actors look like a couple of out of shape, drunk children. Includes English subtitles.
