I am currently reading Eats, Shoots and Leaves. It's a hilariously funny book about punctuation. It is perfect for me, considering that I am the girl who almost threw a fit when someone tried to write "August LIT's 2005" on our LIT sign, rather than "August LITs 2005". I am about half-way through the book and I recommend it a lot if you have even the slightest interest in punctuation and/or a sense of humour.
And now, a list of the items I have on hold at the library:
-Girls in Pants: The third summer of the Sisterhood by Ann Brashares (ninth in line) {Yes, I am a sucker for somewhat bad teen-girl-oriented fiction}
-It's All Gone Pete Tong (nineteenth in line) {I read a lot of good reviews of this movie and am not one to turn down a movie to be seen for free, courtesy of the library}
-Lords of Dogtown (eighteenth in line) {It sounds like a cool movie, is about skateboarding and features both Heath Ledger and Jon Robinson from Elephant. Enough said}
-Thumbsucker by Walter Kirn (first in line) {They made a movie from it that I would like to see, and I am a bit of a stickler for reading books before seeing the film adaptation [this sentence features an Oxford comma!]}
My use of various kinds of brackets is in all likelihood grammatically blasphemous. I haven't gotten to the part in the book about parentheses yet.
I'm also unsure whether I'll be able to participate as an actress in the play. I just feel like I have waaay too much on my plate as it is to add anything else, especially something where a lot of people are sort of relying on me, as they would be in a play. If I don't end up auditioning for a part, I think I'll stay on as a costume or scenery person, though.
