Guess I should post about what Greg and I did last weekend, eh? Seems like I'm always busy these days and when I'm not busy the computer is giving me grief :|. Old comps, gotta love em. Ah well...hopefully we will be looking into getting a brand-new laptop sometime after Christmas :D.
Ahem, looks like I'm getting off the subject :P.
OK...well last Friday
count_gregula and I went to
Lincoln Park Zoo's Zoolights Festival. The Christmas lights were very pretty (as usual), but unfortunately it was also colder than a witch's you-know-what (as usual :P) so we couldn't wander around the outdoor displays as much as we liked. We mainly explored the indoor exhibits such as the monkey house, lion house, penguin building and small mammal (bats!) and reptile building :D. We had fun meeting up with Santa in the monkey house and "Clarence Hollybottom" the guitar player/singer was also there entertaining the patrons with renditions of festive holiday favorites such as "Jingle Bells" and "Holly Jolly Christmas".
We also spent a great deal of time in the Gift Shop, where I picked up the first part of Greg's Christmas pressie as well as a brass ornament and a Lincoln Park Zoo winter hat for myself. Interesting thing happened there while I was browsing the stuffed animal shelf...a familiar-looking guy came into the shop and said hi to me, well I said hi back and was like "hmm...is that who I think it was?". Turns out it was Mayor Richard M. Daley of Chicago, wow the mayor came in and said hi to me!!! So naturally Greg got him to take a picture with us (I'll post it here whenever I get a chance to upload pix) and he shook our hand and was very pleasant to chat with :D.
The rest of the weekend was quiet, went to What's Cooking for dinner Sat. nite and to Border's bookstore afterwards before taking Greg to work.
