Im so sick of elitist people who constantly bitch about anything and everything...
I understand that this is America and we totally have the right to say what we want and complain about anything pissing us off.
But seriously, some people just complain because they think it makes them witty or comical or something and that is annoying as shit...
And they complain about the most ridiculous things, like how someone does there hair or some trend thats "hot" right now.
Trust me, I get annoyed by these things too, but Jesus, do we really need to take all that time out of the day to publicly criticize someones choices?
If it doesn't affect you then why do you care, it's not your bad judgement.
I've always tried to live by the mantra "If it makes someone happy and its not hurting anyone, then I dont care what anyone does." Whether this be a female marrying another female or someone rocking out to Avril Lavigne or someone wanting to eat a Super-sized Big Mac meal or someone being depressively emo, who cares?
Plus, there are way more important issues out there to get fired up about.
So these cultural things, trends and ideas that change, what is the point in criticizing them? Its obviously not going to change anything in the short term. Plus, anyone with any background in anthropology knows that a culture will not survive if it doesn't change, and I guess I just see a lot of change going on in the world (that doesn't always necessarily mean for the better).
And I understand venting to get it off your chest, but some people just take it too far.
Basically, i'm not trying to say don't bitch about things on LJ or with your friends or whatever, but maybe i'm saying moderation is the key.
So please, maybe the next time you decide to be elitist and think you are better than everyone by criticizing something, just remember, you probably have a habit that someone would like to bitch about too...
