Adventures in Azeroth these days. . . .

For those of you who play WoW,  meet my new character whom I plan to level:

Freder is a blood elf rogue, and I played him up to level 10 when I was home sick last night.

He is quite fun, and its a very different sort of play from paladins or any of the other classes I have tried.  Freder is named for the main character in Metropolis, the classic 1927 movie.  There are other Freders in WoW, but not on my server.  By contrast, all of my other names have been unique :)

Any how, its fun stealthing and sneaking around packs of enemies instead of taking the hard slog through the bodies that Lyra did.  THere are also some great PvP potentials for him when he is leveled more, that I look forward to trying.

I've got him nicely equipped for a new character.  He is wearing Herloom shoulders that Lyra bought with Wintergrasp Shards, and a battared fishing hat from her fishing daily rewards.  No stats on the hat, but you dont get in-game helms until much later levels. I almost hate to replace it!    I have sent a few bits of gold over from my bank alt to get him started, so he trained and equipped with cheap stuff off AH like greens.  I don't consider it too much cheating since I played Lyra from ground up and now I want to play.

He is an Herbalist, and in burst of devil may care regarding finances, I gave him ALchemy now rather than waiting until later. Its nice to level a profession as I go, even if it means less harvested mats to sell.  Alchemy looks really fun and useful, and is where Mana and Life potions and other great items come from.

Freder joined a new guild; so many of my friends from Pie had moved on and I was rather tired of the teenagers, so with no ill feelings I shopped around. I found a guild called Knights of the Forsaken.  Despite the machismo the name inplies, its filled with a variety of levels of friendly, fun, appreciative guild mates. Many of these people are playing their new first characters, so i spend a lot of time in chat teaching them about things, or even grabbing Lyra and running them places. I even give away pets and other fun stuff.   I dont mind it at all because unlike any other guild I have been in, every single person here appreciates the help and never begs for anything, and I enjoy feeling helpful and useful.  There is such a learning curve to the game that if Julianne hadn't helped me settle in I might not have established myself into what I get a lot of pleasure and entertainment out of. SO I love being able to pass along what I have learned about leveling to others, while at the same time on my Main character I am still learning things at the End-Game level.

He is currentlly leveling in Trisfal Glades, becuase I had already done the Blood Elf areas on m y main, and I wanted some new scenery.

warcraft, wow
