It's alive! And also, the Futurama movie is actually really freaking good
I'm back. California was awesome (you know, except for those freaky hills that cars and cable cars alike so should not be meant to go up and down), dragonessasmith and wiccagirl24 are awesome, wiccagirl24's three-legged-and-tail-less dog is awesome. Hell, I've even been brought over to the dark side of liking tofu (when it's deep fried and slathered in some sweet-tasting sauce, you really can't taste anything tofu-y about it. Yum). I took about 500 pictures (you think I'm joking, don't you? Ha). Mountains are awesome, and so are my uncles and their friends. I wish I'd gotten to spend more time hanging out with dragonessasmith and wiccagirl24, though. Holy shit it's weird to talk about fandom verbally with someone who knows exactly what you're talking about and doesn't think you're crazy who is also sitting right next to you rather than in another state. Awesome. I've started a hell of a lot more fics than I've written lately because of it.

Oh damn, Dad's working until 10 tonight and there's no food in the house. Sad.
I work tomorrow, which blows because classes don't start until the 22nd and I was planning to bum around watching cable TV hanging out with my dad until then. Oh well. I need the money anyways. I need to save up more for the apartment next year and, oh yeah, for the books for one of my classes because the fucking prof won't let us buy them from the school's bookstore, which takes money from my student account, but rather from the feminist bookstore. Look, I support that bookstore. It's a great idea! But we're not exactly upper middle class here, I need to buy my books off my financial aid.
Okay fine, I got money for Christmas and I can afford the books. But I was saving that for rent next year. I need to get another job, one that will take me into the summer so I don't have to angst about finding one come May. I'll angst about finding one now! The problem is, the house is far-ish away from campus. I need to find something that's halfway in between. Just not at the liquor store. I think my dad would smack me upside the head, because while the neighborhoods between campus and the house aren't that bad, they're not the kind of neighborhoods where my dad wouldn't be happy to have me working at a liquor store. It seems like the only stuff really around there are liquor stores, though. Hm.
I still haven't seen the new Torchwood. I'll download that and watch it after work, unless there's someone in Minneapolis who wants to hang out.
