ignazwisdom tagged me.

Once tagged by this entry, you list ten movies: your Five Favorites & your Five Guilty Pleasures. Then pick five of your friends and tag them. No tag-backs. This explanation should be included.

Much blabbing ahead! And blabbing is an actual word. How surprising. )

You probably don't want to watch the movie. See, I'll explain it. There's Forney is a genius with an alcoholic sister he takes care of, and he's got a boner for the new girl in Hicksville, Novalee Nation (played by Natalie Portman), who gave birth to a baby named Americus Nation in the Wal-Mart she had been living in because he asshole boyfriend, Willy Jack Pickens, abandoned her in the parking lot. Sister Husband--Stockard Channing--gives her a tree, and then her and the baby a home. There's a man who lives with Sister, I think his name might be Brother. Every time they sit down to a meal Sister ends the blessing with, "And forgive Brother and I lord for fornicating on (insert surface here) today." They usually fornicate on the kitchen able. There are also tornadoes and a woman who named her five or six children after snack foods in between getting her nursing degree.

I know. I have horrible taste in movies. It's a really well-acted and even a pretty well-written one, though. The cast is amazing and it's just the right blend of trashy America shaken in with humor and really touching moments. And Forney's kind of hot.

No, I know I still have horrible taste in movies.

Oh my god. Those names. *buries face in hands*

But seriously, at least you own your taste in movies. That's good. That's great, even!

The names are part of what I love about it. The movie doesn't take itself too seriously, but then there are these surprisingly deep and serious moments that are believable.

Hahaha. I own the flaws I know I have. :D
