I keep wondering if it's alright to dislike large portions of an internship in my chosen field without coming off as whiny, so for my sake I'm going to say you are free to dislike it.

It is! I worked at Noah's Bagels and the first thing I did was break one of the spreader tools. And it was on a Sunday with the after church crowd, which is the busiest times ever at Noah's. I knew I wouldn't like that job..and I was correct.
