They're supposed to be on their way to a bar because Charles is being a stupid face and pissing Erik off with Christmas music thanks to a droid that meets his untimely end. So they debate about idek what but they do because that is their life and the snow outside is stupid and since it doesn't affect Charles (being all morally superior to Erik anyway), it just ends up affecting Erik.

Somewhere in there they either make it to the bar or don't and you get some more hideous making out on Erik & Charles' part. But that part may or may not be in Alex's vicinity, so if Alex wants to either tag around or just be like why are you outside and not in one of your 3 preferred places :| he can.
