Twa Corbies

Speaking of corvids, I saw a raven in the main quad yesterday, madly running as fast as he could. I followed him for a little while and noticed that he had an injured wing and probably couldn't fly. A couple of women from the anthropology department had also spotted him and were following him and we thought maybe we could capture him in a box and take him to the Wildlife Rescue. He was too fast for us. He somehow managed to climb a tree and get all the way to the top before we could catch him. Hopefully he'll be OK. I looked for him today in the tree and didn't see him, so maybe his wing got better.

For our Tuesday night documentary we went to see John Pilger's "Breaking The Silence" at the Presbyterian church in downtown PA. It was shocking and horrifying, but enough about John Pilger's hair. See it if you get the chance, it's really good.

After that we spent an entire train ride discussing linguistics and dialects, mainly inspired by the girl in the seat across the aisle who talked on her cell phone the entire time in a very affected "urban" accent. I tried to come up with expressions from my jr. high years that are no longer in common usage. There was "dee-cent" meaning good, "bogue" meaning bad and "studette" which I don't exactly know the meaning of. I know there were a lot more. Help me out yimish, you were there.
