Tedious Lists 2013

Feb 15, 2014 19:35

February is half-over and I still haven't done my 2013 tedious lists? Baby care really does take over your life. I haven't really even remembered to log in to LJ in the past 3 months, so if anyone is still reading this, I apologize for being out of the loop. Now that Octavia is 2-1/2 months old and doesn't require constant freaking out and meltdowns on our part, I'm going to try to update again every once in a while. I know everyone reading this has been inundated with our baby photos and updates on Facebook, but I'll post the album links here again just to have them in one place:

Octavia 2013 - Birth to 3 weeks

Holidays in Redwood City 2013 - Octavia Meets The Whole Family

Back to the tedious lists. I'll do them in first-half, second-half format again since I know I don't have the time or attention span to try to consolidate them right now.

FILM, TV, AND OTHER VISUAL MEDIA Jan - Jun (Formerly "2013 Movies", "Movies From Past Years Seen For The First Time in 2013", "TV Shows") I don't think I've seen a single first-run movie in the theater this year, nor have I watched much TV live as it was happening. Since getting a Nexflix gift subscription I've been overwhelmed by such bounty that I am barely able to leave the house.

1. Continuum - As you well know, I will watch any time-travel movie or TV show, and this is one of them. The plots and dialogue are stupid-as-can-be; it's basically a macho cop show about terrorists, but the world of 2077 is brilliantly designed and the time travel loops are clever enough to keep you interested.

2. 56 Up

3. Wings Of Desire, One, Two, Three, The Lives Of Others: the best of the movies we watched to prepare for Berlin.

4. Orange Is The New Black

5. Arrested Development Season 4

6. Call The Midwife

7. Cemetery Junction

8. Planes, Trains & Automobiles - Why had I never seen this until this year?

9. Mad Men Season 6

10. The Mighty Boosh
