And Humping They Did Go

The Vulture Festival was outstanding and well worth the 6 hour drive. You can read Karla's travelogue or look at our photo gallery. I have never seen so many vultures in my life, and I'm known to be pretty good at seeing vultures. (Like the time I was anxiously awaiting my odometer to roll over to 100,000 and I got distracted by a vulture and missed it.) There's more than just vultures in America's birdiest inland county though. We saw Road Runners, Quail, Kestrels, Wild Turkeys, Brown Bats and Tarantulas. I didn't even know we had Tarantulas in California until a few days ago when goldenmoonbear told me about them.

Life on the Central Valley freeways is non-stop excitement because you can get energy drinks that you would never find in the the civilized world. Our favorite was a 99 cent Red Bull imitation called CL-ONE. (Get it?) There was also, most shockingly, a Clamato Energy. I really hope I never need energy so badly that I consider drinking one of those, although I did once drink a Chino energy. It was 2 years ago and I'm still traumed.

Yesterday we went to see The Science of Sleep, which did not at all live up to the hype. In fact, apart from the cool animation it was a pretty crappy movie about annoying pretentious people.
