Weekend Digest

*goldenmoonbear and I visited Santa Clara University to get information about an environmental teaching program that she is interested in.
*We got sidetracked and spent several hours at the train tracks watching mice scurry back and forth. They're just like tiny chinchillas.

*annarama came over and we worked out some accordion parts with the intention of recording them in Aaron's studio. We sadly did not get around to it, possibly because of Aaron's deep seated fear of accordions.
*We did manage to record 3 solid drum tracks with the new drummer who looks like a big cuddly Buddha.
*Aaron spent the whole day trying to remember where he had met Anna before. Best guess: "Do you have a garage door?" (He installs garage doors for a living.)
*In the down time we amused ourselves by singing XTC and TMBG songs. Or at least I did, I'm not sure if anyone else was so amused.
*Dinner at Great Vegi-Land.
*Later we watched a DVD from the library of some experimental films made between 1901-1931. The special effects back then were really baffling. I have no idea how they did them. Nowadays the answer is always - "it's a computer". I guess I could have turned on the commentary and they might have explained it but I prefer to be mystified.

*Big train and bus trip to the far edge of San Francisco to visit zimbra1006 and her new Tortoise. He did all of his tricks for us; peeing, pooping and eating a bean. I wanted to see if he could flip himself over if we put him on his back. Apparently he cannot.
*Many, many hours of playing that damn addictive TV trivia game.
*Golden Era.
*Our first real grocery shopping experience at the new Whole Foods on 4th Street. It's huge, but it has no Kaboom.

studio, food, kaboom, train, chinchillas, rodents, tomb of leopards, documentaries
