LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Miramax Films is considering a plan to inject some extra razzle-dazzle to the Oscar-winning musical "Chicago" for a re-issue of the film ahead of a DVD release in August.
"Chicago," starring Renee Zellweger and Catherine Zeta-Jones as a pair of homicidal hoofers, may return for a limited run in theaters next month with an additional song-and-dance number cut from the original theatrical version, a studio source said on Thursday.
A DVD release of the movie, including the extra scene, already is set for Aug. 19, and Daily Variety reported that Miramax plans to bring that version to theaters a month earlier, possibly July 18.
Miramax said no decision about a cinematic re-release has been made, but the source told Reuters that if the film returned to theaters, it would be with the previously cut scene -- a duet between Queen Latifah and Zeta-Jones titled "Class."
i mean, we have to go see it at last ONCE guys, but i'm gonna see it as much as i can for that week. and if it opens on july 18, i'll be in bermuda on that day, but that's okay 'cause i'll get home the next day or whatever and still have a whole six days to see it AGAIN
i thought i would never be able to see that movie in the theatres again and now i have the chance and....
