Motorvehicular Misadventures or Spontaneous Combustion Engine!!!
So's I get to work a little early last night and I'm waiting for my friend to walk in with. I notice I have some time so I figure "Hey, I'll just listen to Rush for the next ten minutes or so."* After about five minutes though I notice that smoke has begun to billow forth from beneath the hood of my car. Knowing next to nothing about what happens beneath the hood I respond appropriately "OH NO! THE ENGINE IS ON FIRE! ABANDON SHIP!" The engine wasn't actually on fire at all.
I'd like to say something more interesting happened as a follow up aside from the constant worry of having security come around the building to ask whose Altima exploded and blew up/decapitated with shrapnel everyone in a 30 foot radius; but I can't.
I checked all applicable liquid levels after work and everything seemed to check out.
Sometimes your car just needs to pretend it will explode into a blazing inferno so that your relatives will need to identify you based mostly on dental records and a half-melted Darkthrone CD.
