Most of the people who make arguments based on "history" know only an abbreviated, heavily distorted agitprop version of history anyway, which is how socially-conservative working-class whites became united under the same umbrella with socially-moderate, wealthy blacks like Ron Steele. The "history" they learn has everything to do with race (for the poorer members of the party) and next to nothing to do with race (for the wealthier members.)
There is nothing, to weakly paraphrase the Comte, in this country's rural hinterlands, that unites the poor and the rich whites, except that they are not black. He only wrote that 180 years ago, so in French terms anyway, it was fairly recent.
