Yet another not-really-hilarious example of how Middle Eastern media (I hesitate to say Islamic, though practically all media in the Middle East are Muslim-owned) ridiculously misrepresent reality as a colossal conspiracy against the poor downtrodden folks in the Middle East. The fact that they live under oppressive, archaic "governments" in grinding poverty in a region where near-total lack of rainfall, educational system, and non-cash economy prevents any form of economic development beyond the realm of the plutocracies doesn't figure in these theories. Racism, chauvinism (both the good and bad sides, but mainly misogynistic) and class paranoia (remarkably shortsighted classism at that, when it comes to local government) are more frequent onscreen than reality tv shows in the US. And that's just the news.

Now tell me Faux Nooz is doing a bad job. Sure, they're slanted, but at least they make some attempt (however feeble) to show actual reality as it appears in front of their lens.

Later I will point out how there are actually two completely separate examples of racism inherent in the title alone, playing on Egyptians' fears of Jewish oppression (and wealth) and their fear and hatred of Persians (and their wealth.) And then we'll get into how classism there never really went much further than Anwar el-Sadat.
