The touch of Giles' hand on his back helped to relax Wesley a little though he was still a bit fearful about doing damage to the scroll. The fact that it was a love sonnet made it even more incredibly rare, given the L'Teki's lives were filled with violence. If he hadn't been sure, given how near impossible it was to translate human words back into L'Teki and make it fit the conjugation patterns, he would have almost thought it was a forgery.

He nodded when Giles noted how amazing the find was, his eyes still scanning over the words. Part of him thought this had to be a dream, sitting here with this amazing man and reading a rare scroll. He didn't think he wanted to wake up if so.

When Giles' hand began moving, Wesley sucked in a breath before swallowing at his request. He could feel him so close, and he wanted him to read to him, but what if he screwed up the translation? Would he laugh at him? Have second thoughts about all this?

Looking up into the other man's eyes, he opened his mouth to protest, but then stopped, seeing the request reflected there. He really wanted to hear this.

"All--all right," he agreed. "I'm--I hope this is right...

"Beyond the darkness that we fear,
Away from all our bitter foes,
Your love is all I long to hear
And water felt between our toes.
They ne’er do understand us, dear.
For we’re not like the elder crows
Who fight in rage and hatred here
Because they know no other pose.
I knew you were the one I craved
The day you came into my life
And so I claimed you as I did.
Each other’s life we oft have saved
As violent dangers quite are rife.
Our love is deep and safely hid."

When he was finished he looked up at Giles expectantly, wondering what he tought.

Giles sat completely still and waited for Wesley to read the sonnet to him. As the other man started to read, Giles relaxed and sat back on the sofa. The words washed over him and he smiled. The sonnet was lovely, especially given the clan's history of violence. Perhaps not all of them went along with what society expected them to do.

"That was rather lovely," he comment when Wesley finished and looked over at him. "It makes you wonder who the author was. It's obvious they were madly in love with someone, or something." He pondered it for a moment before shaking his head. "Perhaps later you can look it over more. But, for right now, I rather do this."

Leaning forward, and being careful not to bump the scroll, Giles gave Wesley a slow and deep kiss. When they broke apart for air, he smiled at the other man before reaching over for the scroll. He didn't want it to be ruin by accident. Once he had it rolled up, he carefully slipped it back into its holder. He then placed the holder back in his bag, along with the gloves.

Giles then turned and smiled at Wesley. "Thank you for sharing that with me," he whispered as he reached over and slipped his fingers under Wesley's brace. He then used them to pull the man closer to him. "If that clan can find love, then I think it's possible for anyone to find it." He slid his hands up until they landed on Wesley's tie. With one hand, Giles loosened it and undid the first few buttons of the other man's shirt.

He then leaned forward and softly pressed his lips to Wesley's neck as his pulled the braces off his shoulders. Once the braces were down, Giles' fingers then started to work on unbuttoning the rest of Wesley's shirt as he continued to kiss his neck.

"I'd say...this was probably a younger member of the clan who didn't agree with the way they did things, especially when it came to relations with others. A very eloquent younger member, though," Wesley said, scanning the text again. The words seemed to burn into his memory, and he knew that it would likely be a long time before he forgot them. If ever.

He finally lifted his eyes up when he felt Giles moving, just in time for his lips to be caught in a deep kiss. Wesley moaned softly as his heart started beating faster. He couldn't remember any of his previous kisses being like this - there was something amazing about them, something he couldn't put his finger on. After they parted, he let Giles take the scroll and put it safely away. Though he was a bit sad to let it go, just having been able to hold it and read it had been enough.

"I--I should be thanking you," Wesley started to protest at Giles' thanks before he was pulled forward by his braces. He shuddered as he spoke of finding love, wondering if this could be what he was finding. It was so soon, but this was so unlike anything he had ever experienced before. This man understood the life he had led, the work he did, how he felt. "I think it might be..."

Once the braces were off his shoulders and arms, he wrapped his arms under Giles', returning his kisses. He couldn't think of anything else except wanting to be with this man, feel his touch again. He ran his hands over his back and down to the waistband of his trousers.

"I've...I can truly say, I've never met anyone like you before," he said softly against his lips. "I don't know what it is, but I don't think I've ever wanted to with anyone the way I want to be with you now."
