Merlin 4x13

It's the season finale of Merlin and I'm so excited for season 5!

I really hope Merlin didn't just leave his mother and his village in danger... I'm not sure if it's just my imagination but Merlin seemed so weary this episode. Merlin's "be careful" when he saw Agravaine and his men broke my heart and I'm not sure why. Despite not wanting to hurt people, he's realized that sometimes people just need to die. It seems everything that has happened to him has finally caught up to him. This isn't the happy go lucky Merlin from season 1 and that sort of saddens me. I absolutely love Colin Morgan. And I loved the cute scene between Arthur and Merlin. It reminds me that Arthur really does see Merlin as his equal, someone worth just as much as him. This is why I'm a Merthur shipper but can't stand Gwen and Arthur together despite loving them to bits as individuals.

I can just imagine Arthur and Gwen in bed.

"Gwen, deepthroat me!"
"Yes, sire."
"Gwen, swallow, don't spit."
"I'm sorry sire."
"Gwen, clean up."
"I'll have a bath drawn up for you."

I still feel like Gwen just isn't strong enough for Arthur. She apologizes constantly throughout this episode and Arthur just orders her around.

I felt the excalibur scene could have been stronger if we had seen people other than Arthur try to pull the sword out. Otherwise, how to we know that it was difficult to remove. Maybe anyone would have been able to do it. But I'm happy Arthur is no longer moping.

Why did Percival bypass Gwaine and Gaius and immediately go talk to Elyan to give him a manly handshake? That made me laugh. Something fishy is going on here:P

I loved the Arthur and Morgana meeting. He's not afraid of her at all and she looks so sad. It makes me wish for season 1 Morgana again. I loved Merlin's pleased look when he sees that his little voodoo doll works(where did he learn to make these?). I loved that we get to see Morgana wield a sword again. I thought the show had forgotten that she was able to.

I liked Tristan and Isolde and was sad to see her die. Also, this is a huge problem for me and has been since season 1 but why did Gwen not question Morgana getting blasted back. I don't understand. If Merlin was very very subtle, I could understand how he was able to hide his magic for so long but I mean his magic is so showy. I thought for sure Gwen would have realized that Merlin had magic by this point. I'm always left a little upset at Merlin (the show) for not even trying. There are other ways Merlin could have used his magic without making Gwen looking stupid and blind.

Also, Argh, Gwen and Arthur ending. It's like the relationshop between a father and daughter (Gwen, I'm so proud of you *gag*) or a teacher and student. Either way, they aren't equal. She serves him food and is just so submissive. I can't watch them without feeling this icky, gross feeling.

And Aithusa, why? I was totally expecting Mordred.

Anyways, Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight!
