[Despite Zack's best efforts, the constant snowfall has been keeping patrols shortlived and before sundown due to the cold and lack of warm clothing. This leaves him incredibly stir crazy and what does Zack do when he's stircrazy

[He may live with Zack, but he has no say on what he can or can't do. He's always believed in staying out of other people's business. He didn't like people poking in his, either. Although...]

Nah, come right up. Just watch your step, okay?

[They may not talk much, but Zack does consider Train an ally. And that means no falling through the half-rotted floorboards he's working to fix up...cause that would suck worse than catching Zack's cold.]

[They don't speak a lot, but Train would like to get to know him better. After all, they live together. He's careful enough to dodge the half-rotted floorboards.]

[Zack is always up for making friends, and talking while doing physical labor...well, that's one way to start up a friendship.]

I'd appreciate it. Gotta fix the roof and the walls on the third floor, and they're still really messed up from the flooding. That's not counting the floorboards on the second story or the whole lower level. Think that's only still standing cause it's ground level.

[Basically, he'd probably have to strip the building to fix it. And he intends to do it, help or not.]

[Certainly better for the two of them than talking over cake and coffee! This at least accomplishes something.]

About half the roof upstairs is still holding, but the rest is shot. Help me knock out the rotted parts? No power up there, so we gotta finish it before dark.

[At least, this time; next time Zack'll bring a lantern.]

Just watch your head, all right? There's a lot of snow up there and it's cold when it goes down your shirt.

[No one ever said Zack wasn't a master of stating the obvious, at least. Cause he is, especially when carting rotten wood downstairs.]

[They'd have to get some after they were done and have that talk over cake... or warm food. Well.. thanks for the warning, but he already realized. He didn't get too much on him since he dodged the rest of it.]

Too late. I'm guessing you know this from personal experience from being up here.

[At least he wasn't buried under the stuff because of that dodging. That would have sucked and warm food can only do so much when it's this bad out.]

Heh, yeah. I mean, it melts pretty quick but it's still cold. Kinda sucks to have it soak your clothes.

[If Zack suddenly seems a bit more light-hearted, it's because he is; having company is good for him, and the help with the work is very much appreciated. Train's a good guy, Zack knows that much.

[It's a good thing Train's trained enough throughout his life where he's quick on his feet. Food does a lot more for Train than Zack will ever know. Bottomless pit, right here.]

It does make it colder. Makes it harder to work.

[That's good, because he looked like he really needed to have some kind of company. Since he's living with him, he figured he might as well help with the repairs.]

[Hopefully he doesn't have Zack cook for him, though; this one is a terrible cook when it's not cold sandwiches on the menu.]

At least it's not storming yet. Think we still got plenty of time before that happens, though.

That's true. I guess we'll just have to hurry.

[Considering that the last time Zack cooked he nearly burned down the kitchen, complaints would be rather light.]

Yeah. Like I said, we'd have to leave once it gets dark anyway. Still have to fix the wires if we're gonna have lights in here.

[Oh, that is a bit of a problem... Hell, Train will taking them somewhere to eat then. He can't cook either. Luckily he has money here, unlike back home.]

Well, I don't mind coming back some other time to work on the rest of it.

[Lucky indeed. Zack certainly wouldn't complain about some warm soup right about now, that's for sure. He's easy to please.]
