So basically, this weekend was pretty awesome. It was Winter Carnival, which meant that in addition to having a bunch of fun wintery stuff we also had a three day weekend. We didn't have any snow Thursday and Friday, so I couldn't watch/work at the nordic races, but it snowed all day Saturday, which looked awesome and gave us the best covering we've had in a long time.
Both Thursday and Friday nights I hung out, partied, and got fairly impaired with two completely different groups of people each consisting of a few good friends and a larger number of people that I didn't know. Details are sparse and would probably be boring, but in short both nights were very late and very entertaining.
Last night was the Winter Ball, and while Evan, Jin, and I weren't planning on going (you know how much I love formal dances) we decided to at the last minute, which, aided by a little fortification, turned out to be a lot of fun. There was a halfway decent live band there that played a bunch of fun songs, and the three hours we were there went by pretty fast. I also must say that I think I looked quite stylish in a shirt, tie, and shorts (I did go on my own terms)!
This morning I was also able to catch up on some much-needed sleep, which I had seriously been lacking the last two weeks of class and by the looks of things will start lacking again tommorow.
Speaking of classes they're going pretty well, though this is looking to be my most work-intensive semester yet. Greek and Latin translating is time-consuming, though the Latin is pretty easy right now. My German homework isn't too bad for the most part, but my political science course has had an ass-load of reading so far. Luckily I don't really have to do any work for the linguistics course I'm taking.
Anyway, I'm tired. Here's to a good week all!
