GAME ENTRY 14 // "LIKE OIL AND WATER" // JAN. 21-27, 2008
In a sealed off room in a basement somewhere, something seethes. . . .
In her desire to find a way to bind the Spirit of the Ridge, Starre Jacoby threw together two very different disciplines, without knowing much about either. Everything was fine at first, but Mama Mei Chen's runes and WyckedWytch's elements work to slightly different purposes. Those purposes are different enough to have allowed gaps to form in the bindings holding the Beast down. It isn't strong enough to directly control anyone, as it did with Stu Appleman, but its influence can still be felt. Tempers are shorter. Temptations are harder to resist. Forgiveness becomes a chore. Past misdeeds return to mind easily. Only the innocent sleep well.
Felton Rast's church should be ready for his flock by the end of this week. Will his tainted wine bring them to him, or keep them away? Will he be able to connect the camera he found with Father Skorzeny or Craig Gouder?
People interested in running for Town Council have until January 25 to fill out the requisite paperwork at Town Hall. So far, only two people have shown interest: Tacoma Wen and Lyndon Greene. This looks to be an easy election for the two of them. What would that mean for Harry Gilman's easy hold on the current Council? And what exactly is the Johns family's interest in the race?
The Cougar Ridge Community Theater has received some monetary support and a new webpage. Currently the plan is to put on a musical version of Jeff Slater's Return to Love Canal. Anyone interested in averting this disaster should get involved!

The Royale will be closed for the week as it begins the renovations needed to bring it into the 21st century. But we'll be open this weekend with a special program focusing on one of the best adventure series of all time . . .
