Good morning, Cougar Ridge!
We have one new character this week . . . sorta. Felix Ortega is an FBI agent who was in Cougar Ridge twenty years ago, but is not necessarily there now. He's helping to fill out the mystery behind William Watts's story. Please do not interact with him, but if you're a long time resident of the Ridge, feel free to reminisce about him.
There are a few characters who are not posting currently due to personal issues: Farah Clothilde, Aspen Keeley, and Vernon Spock. They should all be returning soon.
I would appreciate some feedback from everyone on a couple of things.
I would like to clean up the "Additional Available Characters" post and delete any that have been claimed. If anyone has any reason that shouldn't be done, please let me know in a comment here.
The other thing I want your opinion on is more important to the game in general. I have been thinking it might be nice to "close"
cougar_ridge_v2 and start using a "v3" journal, or start a community. There would be no break in gametime, we'd just move to another journal, which would have links back to the posts in this one. I have some problems with the formatting done on this one (no offense, Meri, really), and think it might be easier to simply start over, than to try to correct everything. One thing I would really like to do is not mess around with the dates, and just have the most recent entry be at the top of the page, like on a normal LiveJournal. This would make life easier for me, and also should make it so that entries show up on people's friends pages again. Please leave any thoughts on this in the comments to this entry. I would probably want to do the changeover with Week Sixteen, so we have a couple weeks to discuss it.
I have not had a chance to work on advertising banners yet, but Father Skorzeny came up with a little ad copy you can use to advertise for new players, if you so choose (I've edited it a wee bit): The local preacher is tainting the water.
One history teacher is thinking about rejoining her husband and wives.
Another history teacher has been sanctioned by his faith to do whatever is necessary to protect the town.
The shop teacher has his eyes - literally - in homes around the town.
The local police detective has nightmares about shooting down people for the government.
The kindly old woman who takes in boarders is a practicing Satanist.
A young girl sees visions of things that just shouldn't be.
In a sealed off room in a basement somewhere, something seethes. . . .
What's your secret?
