My name is Josh Barty, I'm the sheriff around these parts. Things have been quiet lately, and that's fine by me. I'm not originally from the Ridge, hailing instead from Miami. I moved here to be with my wife, but there were issues, and now she lives in Denver with another man and my daughter.

Things are starting to really turn around for me here, I'm well liked and have some actual friends now. There are also some elections coming up, but I'm not that concerned with it.

My name is Dashiell Pitt. I'm 36 years old and single. I own and run the Four Maples Motel on the Cheyenne Forest Road, just off Highway 23 north of the town. I've lived in Cougar Ridge all my life. The Four Maples has an unfortunate reputation, but it's all lies and rumours -- no one has died on the premises for at least a year.

My name is Felton Rast and I'm what some folks might as call an evangelist. I prefer to think of myself as a bearer of glad tidings though. Cougar Ridge is just the latest stop on my road to Heaven, but I'm sure it'll be a blessed one. Particularly if I can get a tent set up near the highway and start spreading my gospel.

I guess you can say I'm the new guy in town, but I'm trying hard not to advertise that fact. Small town being as it may, I'm sure that won't stay a secret for long though. The name is Foster Nance, a 23yo aspiring photo-journalist, and I'm currently holed up in a shoebox apartment in the dead-ends of Cedar Avenue, past 3rd Street. I like it here in the quiet area, tucked away from prying eyes. Maybe it'll make it easier to find out why my sister stopped sending messages from this sleepy Colorado town...

I'm not old enough to really be a hippie, but when I was fifteen I put on my flowing paisley skirt and rustic-looking peasant blouse and ran away from Cougar Ridge to follow the Grateful Dead. Seventeen years later, dressed all in black, I've come back to my hometown to open a shop, What the Moon Brings - Music, Books, and Everything Else under the Night Sky. We do special orders!
