Mother's Day
The morning of Mother's Day, Luka is up a little earlier than usual. He works quietly in the kitchen, preparing a breakfast of French toast, fresh fruit, juice, and hot chocolate. When the meal is prepared, he arranges it on a tray. On the tray he also puts a framed copy of the 3D ultrasound they'd gotten of Grace.
He leaves the tray in the kitchen and brings a large vase of flowers and an envelope containing a gift certificate for a 90 minute pregnancy massage and spa treatment. He sets the vase and envelope on the bedside table next to his sleeping wife, then goes back to the kitchen for the tray. He sets the tray on the other side of her and bends to kiss her temple.
