Touchdown

Near's room, at first look, is pretty plain. The floors are hard wood with a rug on them in the middle. To the left, there's a white desk with tidy stacks of paper that don't appear to be written on, and a few pens. His bed has a white frame, and a white comforter. It's accented with light blue, as are some of the pillows on it. A white bedside

[ he strolls right in, figuring Near won't object. ]

Near follows (as he usually does) and walks over to his bed, sitting down. "I guess..."

[ he gets on the bed with Near, sitting next to him with a foot or two in between. ]

It would've been funnier if the walls were pink.

[cottoncandynear]

"I can't decide if they're white, or just really, really, really light blue..." He says, staring at one.

[choccomello]

[ follows his gaze, scrutinizing the wall-color. ]

I think it's white, and the blue pillows trick you into think it's got some blue in it.

[cottoncandynear]

"That's a good explanation," Near says, laying back on the bed. "But I think the ceiling is white, and they look different. Unless it's the lighting doing that..."

[choccomello]

[ he glances up and frowns. ]

Whatever. If you just painted it all pink you'd have nothing to worry about.

[cottoncandynear]

"We can paint it some time," he grins, "If you ever had the desire to help me slap paint on a wall and get high on the fumes."

[choccomello]

Huh. That sounds strangely enjoyable.

[ he falls backward onto the bed beside Near, staring up at the ceiling with a small grin. ]

[cottoncandynear]

"If we can find the paint- you can pick the shade... as long as it's not some blinding neon pink..." He turns to look at Mello, "Maybe we could paint the ceiling too?"

[choccomello]

We could.

It'd be light pink, like your hair.

[ and he'll shift a tiny bit to his side and reach out to skim his fingers over the very hair he mentioned. ]

[cottoncandynear]

"Sounds good," He sighs and nestles against Mello.

[choccomello]

[ he pauses to stroke through Near's hair with his fingertips before replying. ]

Yeah.

[cottoncandynear]

Near smiles a bit as his fingers brush through his hair. He closes his eyes, and exhales happily. "You know what?" he mutters.

[choccomello]

What? [ quietly ]

[cottoncandynear]

"I'm afraid that it won't be like this... if we leave..." his face falls, "Not tender and peaceful..."
