Random SPN Thoughts

Just some pre-season feels:

First off, why is everyone so obsessed with End!Verse (2014) Cas? Like, every time something vaguely similar happens people freak out and say it's gonna end up like The End. I don't get it. It was one ep. A brilliant ep written by the infamous Edlund buuut I mean nothing ever about it has ever been mentioned in canon since then. I thought the ep was meant to showcase within Season's 5 dynamic how lost Sam and Dean would be without each other. How much they need each other. How you can choose your own destiny. It would be kind of..contrary to me then if it all happened anyway. And even if Cas falls why do people assume he'd be the drugged out junkie he was in that ep? He was messed up, imo, not just because of the fact that he fell and couldn't handle human emotions. But Bobby was dead, Sam was the Devil and Dean was total douche that was willing to sacrifice him and the rest of their friends. Of course he felt broken and lost, everything he knew fell apart at once and he didn't have anyone to rely on. For me, it would have to a series of events. Not just Cas falling. (Which I do think will possibly happen by the end of the series). Or him hurting himself. In The End..he got cut off from heaven yes, but then there was the virus, Dean becoming cold, Sam dying/being taken over, Lucifer was out..etc..Like I don't see those same events happening again in that way. The whole point of Season 5 was to show Dean and Sam's bond with each other and ability to override destiny. That's just something that's already over and done, imo, I just don't see it being repeated in that way.

Another thing; I always notice people ONLY talking about 2014!Cas too. Like, if he becomes that then doesn't that indirectly mean that Sam will be evil again (please no, so over hurt!sam and whatswrongwith!sam plots) and then Dean will also become his 2014 self? I never see talk of that. It's like everyone just focuses on 2014!Cas and him falling. Like, when/if he falls I would think it'd be different since his bond with the bros is supposed to be gradually mended in the coming season. So, hopefully they'd be there for him. Anyway, even if they cut off heaven/hell and Cas' powers depletes/he falls or the year in the show is 2014. I don't think it means anything. To me, it was just a very Season centric/pivotal episode and that's it. I don't get why some people draw every vague parallel to an end!verse plot every season. But *shrug* I'm always wrong so lol

As for Season 8. I think this Benny character is interesting because it seems he has ulterior motives. What happens that he and Dean get out and Cas doesn't? Does he have some plan? Since I'm assuming Cas doesn't get out right away, that's the current theory given the spoilers we have so far right? Is Benny possibly holding the cards to something Dean will need later, holding something over his head? What does he want? He's recurring so I'm assuming he has some other purpose than just getting Dean out of purgatory. I'm still wondering if that tiger man tweet Misha did with Edlund was a clue...hmm.

Who is the big guess as to who the big bad could be if they do go with one from earlier seasons? Is there a theory yet? I thought they hinted it was someone they've faced before. Please, all Levis go away forever. I hope they've been mostly killed off by Crowley & whoever else. So sick of them and won't be sad to never see them again.

Also I hope we'll get some real time Cas in the latter half of the season. I mean everyone's like "Omg Cas will be in way more eps yay!" But he was in like 3.5 eps last season so it's not like that's SUPER hard to beat lol. It's a start though. I like the spoilers so far we've had. But I'm still worried because he's my bb and I can't stand the thought of him alone.

I know there is some big story arc planned to bring back an older big bad possibly, and something with the 'family business' drama. Which sounds interesting. But somewhere in there I want Cas to be tied in. I know they said they have something planned for him but I don't want it to be too off screen/impersonal like it has been before. And I want to see a more personal bond between him and the Winchesters. Not just him showing up to help them. I want to see them help HIM for once. They go above and beyond to save family. If Cas is really supposed to be family then I want to see them do that for him too. If he's stuck in purgatory, I want to see them care and actively try to help him. Be worried at least! Not just mention it off hand in every couple of episodes like they have in the past. I want to see some concern! And if they rescue him, that'd just make my year. please. I don't expect it to overtake the main plot but I hope it's at least an integral part of it. Then I want to see some Team Free Will kicking this big bad's butt; together. Maybe that's all wishful thinking. I know Carver and Edlund love Cas but I get they may have bigger plans for the show itself that may not focus on him as much. I know, I know, it's not the Cas Show. I get that.. I just want to feel Cas is important too. Not just  tool or a 'problem' or a 'villain' or a 'hammer' but a friend. And an important part of the team. Is that too much to ask? Even Bobby got as much. Cas deserves the same, imo.

I want to see Inias again too! I hope he's not dead. I really liked him. I want to learn more about Cas' angel past and see his friends. And not have them die one ep later lol The poor guy doesn't have many angel allies left if any and he probably can't ever go back to heaven but can they just give him ONE cool angel friend?
