That's awesome!

Did you finish it in time for Xmas?

The thing that's really hard about getting things to grow-with: shoulders. I have no ideas for that problem :/ But up until the point where the shoulders are problematic, you can just keep expanding the back, pretty much.

How you did the corset-y closure on the front, if you did that on the back, for real, with either an open back, or with a modesty panel in the same fabric, underneath. It could snap in to place, or be sewn on one side, and then just get held in place by the corset-y type ties, but I'd recommend a snap or two, because friction will make the panel either move or look really sloppy otherwise.

If length is a problem, you could add another tier to the skirt. It would look best if you had enough of that purple ribbon to sew to the original hem. But, that only happens when you think of it ahead of time and buy mass amounts of ribbon :P

What else have you been sewing????

Photos! Por favor!

Maybe if I can move some of this crap out of the way

/me sweeps arms around in futile gesture

you can inspire me to get sewing! Humongous bags of fabric await me.

*sigh*

PHOTOS?!

:D

It would be easier if you gave me your email address to send photos, so....

And yes, I was able to come up with a closure idea in time for Christmas. I really just wanted a year or two out of it, so I cut it a size larger than what I thought she was - I didn't ask, I wanted this to be a surprise. I have no idea what the fit situation is because I wasn't with her when she opened it and haven't heard back, nor will I - her parents have split up and I most likely will never speak to her mother again, not because of any animosity, that's just how Robert's family works.

See how a sewing matter becomes drama?

Life is weird.

Sewing drama = Yes.

Also, Robert's family are weirdos. I recognize that fact because mine are the same way.

'Tis sad you will never know about the dress!

You can email me at myLJusername@yahoo.com

Only, change the "myLJusername" for my uh, LJ username :)

I don't want to feed the LJ ad trolling machine. Also, *preeeeetty pleeeeeeze* do not email me from a Gmail account.

Thankyousomuch.

Yeah, so.. Photos!
